Identifying Excellence and Encouraging Growth
Many 7th grade students have the chance to participate in the Duke University Talent Identification Program* (TIP). The program identifies academically talented students and offers special programs, recognition, and educational opportunities. As part of the program, students take the SAT in December or January of 7th grade.
This is the only program of its kind in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area designed specifically for 7th graders.
Program Includes:- Parent & Student Orientation
- 2 Diagnostic tests
- 14 2-hour lessons (no more than 12 students per class)
- Instructor-led workshops
- Vocabulary lab
- Full-length practice tests (up to 5)
- Instructor-led practice test reviews
- Homework for reinforcement
- Introduce students to Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Advanced Vocabulary, Essay Writing, Grammar, and Critical Reading
- Build confidence and skills in the subjects tested, learn important testing strategies and alleviate anxiety
- Provide high-level students with an advanced testing experience
